Tilewise – Privacy Policy

Tilewise ("the app") is developed by Michael Murphy as a single-person indie project. Your privacy matters. This policy explains what data is collected, why, and how it is handled.

Data We Collect

Tilewise collects minimal data to operate:

• iCloud (CloudKit): If you are signed into iCloud, your puzzle progress (completed levels, star ratings, daily streaks) is synced across your devices using Apple's CloudKit. This data is stored in your private iCloud container and is never accessible to us.
• In-App Purchases: Purchase transactions are processed entirely by Apple. We do not see, store, or transmit your payment information.
• Local storage: Gameplay progress, hint balance, notification preferences, and app settings are stored locally on your device using SwiftData and UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device unless iCloud sync is enabled.

Data We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect analytics, crash reports, or usage telemetry.
• We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal identifier.
• We do not share any data with third parties.
• We do not serve advertising.

Notifications

If you enable daily reminders in Settings, the app schedules a local notification on your device. No data is sent to any server as part of this. You can disable reminders at any time in the app's Settings tab or in iOS Settings → Notifications → Tilewise.

Results Sharing

After completing a daily puzzle, you may optionally share a text summary of your result (date, star rating, and move count) using the iOS share sheet. This is entirely optional and initiated only by you — no data is sent to us. Your device shares directly with whichever app you choose.

Children's Privacy

Tilewise does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app contains no social features, user accounts, or external communication.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised date.
