Canopy Sieve
Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 24, 2026
This policy explains how Canopy Sieve operates and what happens (and doesn't happen) with your data.
How the App Works
Canopy Sieve is a Safari Content Blocker for iPhone and iPad. It downloads a list of filter rules from GitHub Pages and loads them into Safari's built-in content blocking system. All rule matching happens inside Safari itself — the app never sees which websites you visit.
Information We Collect
None. Canopy Sieve collects no analytics, no crash reports, no usage statistics, and no personal data of any kind. There are no third-party SDKs, no advertising frameworks, and no telemetry.
Filter List Updates
When the app refreshes its filter rules, it makes a standard HTTPS request to fetch files hosted on GitHub Pages (edgedsword.github.io/CanopySieve/). This request contains no personal information. Like all internet requests, a standard server access log may record your IP address as part of normal network operation; that log data is held by GitHub under GitHub's own privacy policy and is not accessible to or controlled by us.
In-App Purchases
Canopy Sieve offers optional tip purchases to support development. All transactions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive, see, or store any payment or billing information.
Local Storage
Filter rules are stored in a sandboxed App Group container on your device, accessible only to Canopy Sieve and its Safari extensions. This data never leaves your device and can be removed by deleting the app.
Children's Privacy
Canopy Sieve does not collect information from users of any age. It is suitable for use on devices shared with children.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised date. Continued use of the app after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
